Retrofit existing rough sawn roof members on each of the three roof tiers to mate with new steel members from proposed modifications. Newell Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and thereby required the General Contractor to adhere to specific rehabilitation standards which had to be reflected in the supplied blueprints.

HDS Scope of Work:
Design the attachment and foundation for a 5,000 lb, Vietnam-Era Huey Helicopter which was to be positioned at an angle, 12′ above the ground. The helicopter was sold to war veterans for approximately $1,750 from the U.S. Department of State, and modified to attach to the steel pole and plate that we designed. Due to the configuration of the memorial surrounding the helicopter a subterranean foundation was implemented.

Convert existing lawn mower repair shop into new offices for an apparel company. The client had a much greater need for office & design space than the previous tenant and requested that a upper mezzanine storage area be expanded and converted into additional office space. Substantial redesign of the foundation, floor framing and life safety plan had to be done to satisfy the current building code.

HDS Scope of Work: Design the attachment of the proposed aluminum breezeway to a new Pre-Engineered Metal Building and the existing cafeteria. Due to the high traffic nature of the proposed location, we were required to design the breezeway without any vertical supports that could potentially impede the flow of foot traffic.
